'Ant-man and The Wasp' directed by Peyton Reed

Writing a review for this movie feels a little pointless, I mean, I suppose you want to know if its good or not. Sure it is. Its fun. Its precisely the movie advertised in the trailer. It has everything the first movie offered plus Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburn, Walter Goggins and the stunningly gorgeous Hannah John-Kamen, who I singled out as stunningly gorgeous in my Ready Player One review. She got me with those bangs. Old Michelle Pfeiffer is no slouch in the stunning screen siren department even with white hair and character in her face she is no worse for wear in the on screen beauty game, and of course Evangeline Lilly in her prime hotness has it going on all over the place. I honestly could have used more Evangeline Lilly in this, There is more of her in this one I mean its called Ant Man AND THE WASP. I guess Wasp's relationship with Ant-man works its just not central to anything going on overall. I don't know if that's a criticism of the movie. It i

'The First Purge' directed by Gerard McMurray

Happy Fourth of July! This is my first Purge guys! I know I can't believe it too.  This is the 4th Purge movie, fitting perfectly in on the 4th of July. What took me so long?, I guess with all the random rage and bad news we hear about and encounter on an uncomfortably frequent basis the first three were too close to home and I didn't pay to go see them. That's not really a good excuse, as art that makes a social comment is definitely not the cause of the horrific BS we've been enduring, rather it could give us some tools to think and talk about difficult issues. That's kinda one thing that is great about cinema, especially cinema that doesn't take itself too seriously. Also I'm sorry I was late to the party because this is a decent movie with some terrific new (to me) screen actors notably Y'lan Noel who plays D'mitri, a gangster down to protect his Neighborhood from the elite manipulators who set up his community for slaughter. Give this ma

I remember putting on Sicario at my cousins house waiting for my dad to get ready to go out. just the first ten minutes I was like yyep! good movie. Its a powerful movie in fact. It draws you right in. I've seen it a couple times now its fucked up its emotional, the action is amazing and unusual, The performances don't scream out at you that they are performances the subjects of the movie melt into the performance melt into the movie itself, that's how you know its really good. Its damn good. I just watched a youtube video about the cinematography, Roger Deakins and Denis Villanueve elevated the hell out of the material.  You can check that out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Okp_koWyy-Y  But you may want to wait until after you see Sicario 2 before you go reminding yourself how awesome the first one was. Because even though its very good, its missing some pieces and some screws are loose in its construction.  Sicario 2 makes you appreciate not only the
